Jay Silver and Eric Rosembaum, from MIT’s Media Lab are launching a super-exciting new gadget: MaKey MaKey. It’s a circuit-board that allows anyone to create their own controllers out of anything slightly conductive – from play-doh to bananas or human skin!
Just plug the USB cable into any computer, and the system sees a new “keyboard” and “mouse”. Then clip a pair of alligator clip wires from MaKey MaKey into whatever you want to become a “button”. The board senses your connection and tells the computer that a “key” has been pressed, or the mouse’s button clicked. It’s easy to use with any software.
The project has been massively popular on KickStarter — we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
