We are so excited that the whole Teaching Robots editorial team will be going to Boston and Cambridge at the end of July for the Scratch Conference at MIT. None of us have ever been to Boston, and being able to visit MIT’s Media Lab (especially the Lifelong Kindergarten Group) is like heading to mecca for practicing Tech Ed nerds. Registration is still open, and the insanely affordable rate of $75 for the 3 day conference (plus an optional $25 for the pre-conference session) is available through the end of May.
The program for the conference is so full of amazing sounding sessions that we’re probably going to be splitting up and going to different talks through out the day. We can always debrief at the hotel bar or indoor pool (such is the life a technology educator). We’re particularly looking forward to learning about the upcoming release of the much anticipated Scratch 2.0.
We’ve even got the luxury of having a few extra days to explore the city. What should we see? We’re definitely planning on checking out the Museum of Science and the Boston Children’s Museum.
